Robert Schroeder, Pataskala's project manager, resigned Sept. 21.
Mayor Steve Butcher said Pataskala City Council is waiting for a report from City Administrator Timothy Boland on the reason for Schroeder's resignation.
Schroeder, who was hired to the newly created project manager position in June 2012, was responsible for the city's road projects.
Butcher said the city's engineering firm, Stantec Engineering of Columbus, would handle road projects in the interim.
Schroeder's resignation was accepted five days after Pataskala City Council voted 6-0 on Sept. 16 to restrict the city's use of signs related to the Roadway Asset Management Plan.
No further details were immediately available.
