Pastaskala: Man arrested for carrying firearms, brass knuckles

The Pastaskala Division of Police arrested a 26-year-old man for possession of drugs and carrying a concealed weapon at 9 p.m. March 12 in the 1000 block of Oxford Drive.

Police reports said the man was in possession of a bag containing a green leafy substance, brass knuckles, two handguns and ammunition.

Police Capt. Michael Boals said officers later learned the man had a valid concealed carry permit, but state law requires people to alert officers of the permit if they are stopped.

"He was violating the statute because he didn't say that he had a concealed carry permit and, obviously, the brass knuckles are illegal," Boals said.
