Pataskala: Fence on Township Road set aflame

The Pataskala Division of Police is investigating a fire that damaged a wooden fence in the first block of Township Road on March 27.

The fence was set on fire between 7:28 and 8:23 p.m., the police report said. No damage estimate was available but photos included in the report showed black marks on several feet of fencing.

Charges have not been filed because the incident is under investigation. However, police have identified a 13-year-old boy and a 10-year-old boy as suspects, the report said.

In other recent incident reports from the Pataskala Division of Police:

* Police are investigating the theft of a wallet and its contents between 11:25 a.m. and 1:10 p.m. March 30 from a vehicle parked in the 7000 block of Hazelton-Etna Road.

The thief broke the passenger window to enter the vehicle, the police report said.

* Police cited a 30-year-old man for drug abuse after a traffic stop for having fictitious tags at 2:25 p.m. March 28 in the 100 block of Broad Street.

* Police are investigating the theft of a purse and its contents between 2 and 2:25 p.m. March 28 from the Kroger at 350 E. Broad St.

The purse was under a coat in a cart when it was taken, the police report said.

It contained several credit cards and $7 in cash.
