Pataskala officials are asking residents to help with the annual community trash cleanup April 20 to 27.
"We're declaring war on trash," Mayor Mike Compton said.
The initiative is in association with Earth Day.
Residents can pick up trash bags and gloves at Pataskala City Hall April 14 to 18.
Service department employee Jason Fravel said city workers will go out daily and pick up full trash bags left alongside the roads.
Fravel said no tires, appliances or paint will be accepted because the city has to pay to dispose of those items.
He said the cleanup is strictly for trash.
Compton said groups that want to work in a specific area should coordinate with him or with Nathan Coey, the interim city administrator.
Both can be reached at Pataskala City Hall by calling 740-927-2021. Both also have contact information on the city's website, ci.pataskala.oh.us.
City officials estimate they collect 150 to 200 bags of litter each year during the cleanup.
