Pataskala: Thefts reported from home, two local businesses

The Pataskala Division of Police is investigating recent thefts from two businesses and one residence.

Two businesses in the 500 block of Broad Street reported money was taken between 10 p.m. May 14 and 12:05 a.m. May 15.

The UPS store at 572 E. Broad St. reported $500 missing and Whit's Frozen Custard at 564 E. Broad St. reported $800 missing.

Both businesses reported the crimes after 7 a.m. May 15 and both were entered by force, according to the police report.

Police also are investigating the theft of lawn and garden tools valued at $350 between midnight and 12:59 p.m. May 17 from a home in the 2000 block of Summit Road.

In other recent incident reports from the Pataskala Division of Police, officers cited three people for drug abuse and one for driving under the influence:

* Police cited a 22-year-old man for drug abuse at 11:46 p.m. May 15 on Taylor Road at Broad Street.

The man was found in possession of a bag of "vegetation," a glass marijuana pipe and a digital scale, the police report said.

* Police cited an 18-year-old man for drug abuse at 12:03 a.m. May 18 on Havens Corners Road at Summit Road.

The man was found in possession of a bag of "vegetation," a container with "vegetation," a glass marijuana pipe and a metal marijuana pipe, the report said.

* Police cited a 19-year-old man for drug abuse at 1:54 a.m. May 20 on Broad Street at John Reese Parkway.

The man was stopped for a traffic violation and was found with a bag of "vegetation," a glass pipe and cut straws in the vehicle, the report said.

* Police cited a 37-year-old man for driving under the influence following a traffic stop at 1:52 a.m. May 18 in the 300 block of Broad Street.

A 43-year-old woman at the scene was cited for disorderly conduct.
