Pataskala: Recent traffic stop results in three citations

The Pataskala Division of Police cited three people, two of them for OVI, following a traffic stop July 15.

Officers cited an 18-year-old man for OVI, underage consumption and driving under suspension, a 19-year-old man for possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia and a 23-year-old woman for OVI at 4:20 a.m. July 15 at Summit and Cable roads.

Capt. Michael Boals said both the 18-year-old man and the woman were cited for OVI because the man was driving when the officer spotted the car and the woman moved into the driver's seat after the officer stopped the vehicle.

In other recent incident reports from the Pataskala Division of Police:

• Police cited a 49-year-old man for drug abuse at 5 a.m. July 12 on Broad Street, west of Village Gate Boulevard.

The man was found with a metal tin containing "vegetation" believed to be marijuana, according to the police report.

• Police cited a 41-year-old man for drug abuse at 2:58 p.m. July 12 on Oxford Drive in a business parking lot.

The man was found with a "green, leafy substance" in his possession, according to the police report.

• Police are investigating the theft of miscellaneous tools and damage done to a steering wheel emblem and a tractor tire between 2 p.m. July 9 and 8 a.m. July 10 at Pataskala Elementary School, 395 S. High St.

• Police are investigating criminal damaging between 9:45 a.m. and 5:08 p.m. July 12 at the Bullet Ranch, 12425 Broad St.

The back window of a car was damaged, according to the police report.
