Pataskala: Thefts of scrap metal, equipment reported

The Pataskala Division of Police is investigating a series of thefts that occurred between July 27 and Aug. 1.

* About 2,000 pounds of scrap metal was reported stolen between midnight July 27 and midnight July 29 from a parking lot in the 200 block of Broad Street.

* Several tools and machinery, including a generator, an air compressor, a chain saw and a nail gun, were reported stolen between 2 p.m. July 29 and 11 a.m. July 31 from a home in the 13000 block of Graham Road.

No value was given for the stolen items.

* A four-wheeled vehicle valued at $2,000 was reported stolen between 4:30 p.m. July 31 and midnight Aug. 1 from a business in the 13000 block of Broad Street.

In other recent incident reports from the Pataskala Division of Police:

* Police were alerted to a Smith and Wesson gun reportedly left on John Reese Parkway between 2 and 2:04 p.m. Aug. 3.

Officers were unable to locate the owner and confiscated the weapon, according to the report.
