Licking County: Garages, vehicles targeted by thieves

The Pataskala Division of Police is investigating several reported thefts from outdoor buildings or vehicles throughout the city.

* A trailer, toolboxes and miscellaneous tools valued at $1,650 were reported stolen between midnight May 24 and midnight Aug. 1 from a garage in the 2000 block of Patterson Road.

The garage is on property that includes a vacant home, according to the police report.

* A weed trimmer was reported stolen between midnight and 8 p.m. Aug. 7 from a garage in the 12000 block of Adams Lane.

A door was damaged in the incident, according to the police report.

* A radio, amplifier, floor jack and several CDs were reported stolen between 5:29 and 6:29 p.m. Aug. 11 from a vehicle parked at a home in the 12000 block of Adams Lane.

The vehicle's center console and trunk lock were damaged, according to the police report.

* A lawn tractor was reported stolen between 8 p.m. Aug. 11 and 2 p.m. Aug. 12 from a yard in the 3000 block of Mink Street.

In other recent incident reports from the Pataskala Division of Police:

* Police arrested Sheyli Smith, 22, of 3635 Stoneway Point, Powell, for possession of heroin, a fifth-degree felony, at 4:22 p.m. Aug. 9 following a traffic stop on Blacks Road south of Township Road.

* Police cited a 17-year-old boy for driving under the influence and an 18-year-old man for possession of drugs, drug paraphernalia and tampering with evidence at 12:22 a.m. Aug. 12 on Broad Street west of state Route 310.

The two were cited following a traffic stop.
