Granville's Rinkes steps down as coach
Granville High School boys basketball coach Joe Rinkes has stepped down.
Last season in Rinkes' only with the Blue Aces, they finished 11-10 overall and 9-5 in the MSL-Ohio Division to tie Licking Valley for third place behind co-champions Newark Catholic and Columbus Academy at 12-2.
The next coach will be Granville's fourth in as many seasons. Rinkes followed Jamie Pearson, who guided the team to a 17-6 mark and a share of the MSL-Ohio title in 2010-11. Neither coach taught in the district.
Former coach Scott Carpenter stepped down after six seasons in 2010.
