The combined City of Marysville-Union County-Chamber of Commerce team captured top honors in Division I and the Marysville City Schools team topped the field in Division II of the second Community Challenge competition.

The combined City of Marysville-Union County-Chamber of Commerce team captured top honors in Division I and the Marysville City Schools team topped the field in Division II of the second Community Challenge competition.

A total of 10 teams participated in 18 events over a 14-day period with competition concluding Sept. 20.

Nestle claimed runnerup honors in Division I and Honda Marysville finished third.

Memorial Hospital of Union County took second place in Division II with Scott's Miracle-Gro finishing third.

The City-County-Chamber team won three of 16 events in the Division I competition -- the 21-mile cycle, euchre and the 5K run. One event, softball, was canceled because of high winds.

Honda Marysville won four events (corn hole, dodge ball, bowling and tug-of-war) and tied with Nestle for first place in the obstacle course.

Other Division I event winners included: the Union County Board of DD (disc golf); Nestle (golf, tennis, volleyball and the timed walk); YMCA (basketball, soccer and darts). The Division I spirit award went to Union Rural Electric.

In Division II, Marysville City Schools and Memorial Hospital of Union County dominated the competition, winning 13 of the 16 events.

Marysville City Schools won disc golf, golf, tennis, basketball, the 21-mile cycle, dodge ball, the timed walk and euchre.

Memorial Hospital of Union County took top honors in soccer, darts, bowling, obstacle course, tug-of-war and won the Division II spirit award.

Other Division II event winners included Honda of America (corn hole and volleyball) and Scott's Miracle-Gro (5K run).
