Caring for the community extends past the patients who come to Memorial Hospital of Union County.

Continuing a tradition of holiday giving, the medical staff and board of trustees of the hospital voted to forgo receiving a holiday gift so that those funds could be donated to local nonprofit organizations instead.

Ten community groups will receive a donation from Memorial Hospital's medical staff and board of trustees. The selected groups offer services that reach out to all of Union County and benefit a variety of community members, ranging from children to seniors. These groups include: Community and Seasoned Citizens, Habitat for Humanity, International Family Center, Marysville Kiwanis, North Union School District Personal Needs Pantry, Union County Personal Needs Pantry, Willow Ridge Therapeutic Riding Facility, Union County Family YMCA, Care Train of Union County and Turning Point.
