A swearing-in ceremony will be held for Union County Common Pleas Judge-elect Don Fraser at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Fraser is replacing Richard E. Parrott, who sat on the bench for the past 18 years and is retiring.

The swearing-in ceremony for Fraser will be followed with a 4 p.m. reception at Doc Henderson's Restaurant, 318 E. Fifth St., Marysville.

The 57-year-old Fraser has practiced law since 1979 and arrived in Union County in 1982 to set up his practice with his former law school roommate, John Cannizzaro.

The practice -- Cannizzaro, Fraser, Bridges, Jillisky and Streng LLC -- grew from two partners to seven attorneys.

When Fraser becomes the presiding judge Feb. 9, he will sign a court order to appoint Don Jillisky -- his friend and partner in the firm they are leaving behind -- as his magistrate.
