Workshop series to aid small business owners
Several Union County organizations are partnering to offer resources to small business owners.
A series of workshops are being planned throughout the year to help local businesses to thrive during difficult economic times, according to county tourism director Christy Clark.
The first of those workshops will take place on Feb. 17.
The yearlong workshop series, called "On the Rebound: Survival Strategies for Small Businesses," is aimed at allowing small business owners and entrepreneurs in Union County to formulate a direct exchange of information and ideas with a focus on building a stronger business, according to Clark. The workshops will provide time to learn about small business programs, developing business plans, financial issues, zoning and building code topics, customer service and retention, among other topics, Clark said.
The workshop series is the result of a partnership between TechColumbus, the Ohio Small Business Development Center, the Union County Economic Development Partnership, the Union County Small Business Incubator, the Marysville Uptown Renewal Team and the Uptown Plain City Organization.
The first workshop in the series will take place at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17, at the Union County Chamber of Commerce, 227 E. 5th St. in Marysville. This first workshop will be aimed at informing participants about services and programs available through the Small Business Development Center and TechColumbus. Admission to the workshop is free, but registrations are required one week in advance, and can be made by calling the Union County Chamber of Commerce at (937) 642-6279.
A complete listing of workshop dates and more information can be found on the Web at www.unioncounty.org.
