A Marysville business received international recognition recently for its work in the marketing field.

Kernacopia, Ltd., was selected as a winner in the 2010 Summit Marketing Effectiveness Award competition for its work with Environmental Management, Inc., of Dublin.

According to Kernacopia president and CEO Kristin Kern, the business was among 544 worldwide entries, and was awarded the Platinum Award a status granted to only 14 percent of submissions from this year's competition.

The Summit MEA competition is based on the premise that the goal of marketing communications is to change, influence or reinforce a target audience's knowledge, attitudes or beliefs, according to the MEA.

Companies and individuals from more than 50 countries participate annually in the awards programs.

"We are honored to receive such a prestigious award and very proud to have the continued opportunity to serve as EMI's creative marketing partner," Kern said. "We understand that success requires focus, dedication, creativity and occasionally, a touch of extrasensory perception to accomplish the custom objectives we identify. Our goal is to offer solutions for our clients who, like us, share in the joy of meeting a goal fulfilling a dream."

"Distinguishing between creativity and effectiveness is a difficult task so winning a Summit MEA is a significant achievement," said Jocelyn Luciano, executive director for the Summit International Awards. "The Summit International Awards organization is devoted to furthering excellence in the communications industry. It administers rigorous award competitions throughout the year with the goal of recognizing companies and individuals that do more than what is expected only deserving submissions receive Summit MEA recognition."
