The 26th annual Fourth of July Concert performed by the Central Ohio Symphony will welcome its youngest guest conductor this year at the age of 11.

Considered one of the largest outdoor concerts in central Ohio with an attendance estimated at more than 5,000, the Central Ohio Symphony and Friends of The Symphony sponsored their fourth raffle to select a guest conductor of a John Phillips Sousa march at the concert.

Marysville's Brianna Grandits, 11, was chosen as this year's winner after entering the raffle at the Council On Older Adults Summer Fest, which was one of the last opportunities to purchase raffle tickets.

Grandits will be going into 6th grade at Creekview Intermediate School in Marysville next fall. Grandits is on the local swim team, has been active in Student Council at school and plays recorder and the keyboard. Next year, she will begin playing the clarinet at school.

The Central Ohio Symphony will hold its July Fourth concert at 7:30 p.m. on the Phillips Glen lawn at the Ohio Wesleyan University campus in Delaware. Lawn seating is free; limited general admission chair seating in front of the stage costs $5.

Immediately following the concert will be the city of Delaware's fireworks display. The fireworks can be viewed from areas adjacent to the concert site.
