The Mill Valley Neighborhood Watch is undergoing an organizational realignment to begin the process of formal incorporation as a nonprofit agency in 2012.

"After four years, we are now at a critical point where we need to take a series of additional proactive action steps that will significantly increase the scope of the watch program while sustaining and growing its presence for years to come in Mill Valley,” said Mill Valley Neighborhood Watch coordinator Pete Emmons.

The realignment process will consist of developing an expanded board of directors, as well as key committees, including outreach, membership, finance and fundraising, and a community ad hoc resource group.

“Over the next several months, we will be focusing on recruiting citizens to fill these critical operational area,” Emmons said. “ We’re looking for Mill Valley citizens who are passionate about safety 365 days of the year and want to make a positive community contribution.”

Plans call for a community meeting during the month of October and then a new Watch Captains orientation.
