A 25-year-old Richwood man was arrested at a home in Marysville June 21 by the Union County Multi Agency Drug Enforcement Task Force.
According to a release from the Union County Sheriff's Office, Lucas A. Tumeo, of Graham Lane in Richwood, was charged with one count of corrupting another with drugs, a second-degree felony; and trafficking in drugs, a fifth-degree felony.
Tumeo allegedly sold heroin to another person in the 13000 block of state Route 4 in Union Township. That person overdosed on the drug June 15 and was transported to Memorial Hospital of Union County for emergency medical treatment.
The release said Tumeo was arraigned Friday morning, June 21, in Marysville Municipal Court and is being held in the Tri County Regional Jail on a $100,000 bond.
Additional charges may be filed against Tumeo before a Union County grand jury.
Union County Sheriff Jamie Patton called this arrest "another positive step in the fight against the heroin epidemic in Union County." Patton said the public is encouraged to report any suspected drug activity to the Crime Tip Line at 937-642-7653 or to local law enforcement agencies.
