Interim Superintendent Kara Brown will officially take over leadership of the Union County Board of Developmental Disabilities. The board voted unanimously to make Brown the new superintendent at its March 17 meeting. The move is effective July 1.
According to an announcement from the UCBDD, Brown was hired as support services director in 2002 and assumed responsibility for adult programs in 2011.
She received a bachelor's degree from Kent State University in 1993 and a master's from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 1995. Brown also serves on the board of the United Way of Union County.
