The assistant superintendent of Marysville schools, Andrew Culp, is among 32 candidates who have applied to replace Ed O'Reilly as the Grandview Heights City School District's next superintendent.
The deadline for applicants was Monday, April 7.
Grandview school board President Grant Douglass said first- and second-round interviews with candidates would be held this week.
Finalists will be invited back to visit the community and be interviewed by a select group of community members and district staff members, he said.
"We would be looking to make a hire by May 1," Douglass said.
Bill Reimer and Dale McVey of the Educational Service Center of Central Ohio are assisting with the search.
Candidates come from across the state and Michigan. Central Ohio applicants include educators from Bexley, Columbus, Dublin, Olentangy and Worthington.
O'Reilly announced in January he would resign July 31 to pursue other opportunities.
