The Union County Historical Society will host an ice cream social from 1-4 p.m. Sunday, July 20, in conjunction with a special gathering with President Abraham Lincoln.

The Union County Historical Society will host an ice cream social from 1-4 p.m. Sunday, July 20, in conjunction with a special gathering with President Abraham Lincoln.

The event will be held at the county museum, 246 W. Sixth St. in Marysville.

At 2 p.m., an actor portraying Lincoln will share stories about the importance of the country's founding documents, his Gettysburg Address and other issues. Ice cream and sweet treats will be served.

The museum and Weller Log Home will open at 1 p.m. for tours.

To reserve tickets, call 937-644-1113. Adult tickets cost $5 in advance, $7 the day of the event. Children 17 and younger are free.

The event will be held outside. In the event of rain, it will move to a nearby shelter.
