Meijer marked the opening of its new Marysville supercenter with $27,000 in donations to local organizations.
At the grand opening Thursday, July 31, store director Kevin Dicler presented $25,000 to Marysville Early College High School to support the creation of learning labs at the STEM-focused school.
He also presented $1,000 to Marysville High School's gymnastics team and Care Train of Union County, which provides food and toys to residents in need during the holidays.
According to Meijer officials, the 190,000-square-foot store at 930 Coleman's Crossing Blvd. created more than 270 new jobs.
Meijer, based in Grand Rapids, Mich., has 213 stores throughout the Midwest, including 41 in Ohio.
Also, U.S. Bank opened an in-store branch at Meijer. It is the bank's 17th central Ohio in-store branch.
The Meijer branch offers extended hours on evenings and weekends. Aaron Santarelli is the branch manager.
