Tucker resigns as Marysville coach

Aric Tucker resigned April 29 as coach of the Marysville High School girls basketball team.

“I want to thank those who supported our program over the years and the girls that played for us,” said Tucker, who coached the team for nine seasons.

He declined further comment.

Last season, the Monarchs finished 5-18 overall after losing to Dublin Coffman 71-44 in the first round of the Division I district tournament.

Marysville went 0-14 in the OCC-Central Division to finish eighth behind co-champions Coffman and Hilliard Davidson, which each went 12-2.

The Monarchs last finished with a winning record in the 2009-10 season when they went 11-10.

“Aric is a great guy and I wish him all the best,” athletics director Joe Bline said.
