Lauran Young, the daughter of Laura and Paul Young of New Albany, has been selected as a resident assistant for the 2008-09 academic year at the University of Findlay.

Lauran Young, the daughter of Laura and Paul Young of New Albany, has been selected as a resident assistant for the 2008-09 academic year at the University of Findlay.

As a resident assistant, Young is responsible for supervising a residence hall floor or another on-campus housing facility, as well as offering guidance and programming activities to residents. Resident assistants are selected based on numerous criteria, including leadership skills, campus involvement and work ethic.

Young is a sophomore psychology major.

Young is also involved with the Black Student Union, ASPIRE mentorship program, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Psy-Key Club.

New Albany resident Jessica Sellke is an inductee of Delta Mu Delta at Ashland University.

The purpose of Delta Mu Delta is to recognize and reward superior scholastic achievement by business administration students. Students must be in the top 20 percent of their class with a minimum GPA of 3.5.

Delta Mu Delta sponsors two annual field trips and occasionally arranges for visiting speakers.

New Albany resident Karissa Meikle is a summer 2008 graduate of Ohio University. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in health services administration.
