The New Albany-Plain Township Historical Society will meet Thursday, Feb. 5, for both its regular business meeting as well as a special presentation by society member Marilyn Regrut about historic buttons from the 1860s.

Marlyn Saveson, the public relations coordinator for the historical society, said Regrut has been collecting buttons for a while and has a great variety of both men's and women's clothing buttons.

Saveson said the buttons from the 1860s provide a good look at the time period, which is also when the Ealy House, the society's headquarters on Dublin-Granville Road, was built.

The meeting, which will be held at the New Albany Library, 200 Market St., will start at 7 p.m. to cover regular business. The button presentation should start around 8 p.m., Saveson said.
