New Albany-Plain Local School District administrators discovered Thursday that a high school student was approached by a stranger near New Albany High School on Wednesday.

New Albany-Plain Local School District administrators discovered Thursday that a high school student was approached by a stranger near New Albany High School on Wednesday.

The student said a white male with a gray beard and driving a green van asked the student to help find a lost dog at the corner of Dublin-Granville and Fodor roads. The driver immediately left the scene when the student walked away.

Administrators said in a release that police are following up on the situation and have stationed additional officers around campus and near the Market Square area.

The New Albany Police Department is asking for any information involving the situation.
