The Plain Township trustees are hoping to hire a new zoning officer at their July 1 meeting.

The three trustees have narrowed their search to three candidates: Ben Collins, a former Delaware County assistant prosecutor; Mary Fee, who has a background in real estate; and Lindsay Hodge, an attorney with a background in zoning issues.

Township Administrator J.B. Bowe said 11 candidates were interviewed.

The new zoning officer would replace Bowe, who has been serving in the position since former zoning officer Cathy Gray resigned earlier this year.

"We hope to have this done by the end of the month," he said.
