The New Albany Women's Network will present its annual fundraiser, "An Evening in New Albany: Magical Moments at the McCoy," on Saturday, Aug. 28.

The New Albany Women's Network will present its annual fundraiser, "An Evening in New Albany: Magical Moments at the McCoy," on Saturday, Aug. 28.

Festivities begin at 7 p.m. at the Jeanne B. McCoy Community Center for the Arts, 100 W. Dublin-Granville Road.

Proceeds benefit the New Direction Career Center and NAWN's endowment fund.

Next Exit will provide live music and David McCreary will perform magic and comedy. Participants will be offered food, raffles and silent and live auctions.

Tickets cost $40 through Aug. 18 and $50 after Aug. 18.

Temple Beth Shalom will feature new music by composers Debbie Friedman and Craig Taubman every Friday during Friday Shabbat services at 6:15 p.m.

Friedman is a popular and influential creator of Jewish music. For more than 30 years, she has composed songs in the folk rock genre.

Taubman has been creating music for the Jewish community for more than 20 years. His songs aim to bridge traditional Jewish themes and ancient teachings with contemporary Jewish life.
