Temple Beth Shalom, 5089 Johnstown Road, will offer a Hebrew camp from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Aug. 16 through Aug. 19.

"Kibbutz Kef" will focus on community and Jewish identity and is open to students in third through seventh grade. The camp will include Hebrew reading, vocabulary and comprehension, as well as social-action projects, recreational events and field trips.

Campers will also work with Susie Blank to create personalized Judaic mosaic pieces.

Congregation Tifereth Israel, 1354 E. Broad St., will offer an introduction to Judaism class beginning at 11:15 A.M. Sunday, Aug. 22.

Rabbi Michael Ungar will teach the class, which will meet on Sundays throughout the year for at least 25 sessions.

The class is open to anyone who is interested in learning more about Judaism, and covers Jewish theology and philosophy, literature, Sabbath and holidays, dietary laws and more. Additional "crash courses" in Jewish history and Hebrew reading will be offered on Monday evenings.
