The New Albany Lions Club will sponsor a turkey shoot from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturdays at Doran's Farm Market, 5462 Babbitt Road.

Events scheduled include:

Oct. 30 card shoot for cash and trophies

Nov. 13 card shoot for turkeys and trophies

Nov. 27 card shoot for turkeys, ham and trophies

Raffle tickets are available for $2 each or three tickets for $5. Prizes include a Wolf 209 Magnum Break-Action muzzleloader; a hunting knife and gloves; and a camouflage hat and gloves. The drawing will be held Nov. 27.

Proceeds will support blindness prevention efforts and programs to aid the visually impaired. Individuals who need assistance to buy eyeglasses are asked to contact a member of the Lions.

Hadassah members will attend the Columbus Jewish Film Festival on Tuesday, Nov. 9, at the Jewish Community Center of Greater Columbus for a 5:30 p.m. "Great Over 80" dinner, followed by a 7 p.m. screening of "Ahead of Time."

The film depicts the life of Hadassah member Ruth Grube, known to many as the author of "Raquela" and for her career as a foreign correspondent and photojournalist.

The "Great Over 80" dinner will honor senior citizens, including many Hadassah members.

The cost to attend the dinner and film is $22. Tickets for the film only are $10, or $8 for JCC members and those older than 60.

The deadline to register is Tuesday, Nov. 2. Send checks made payable to the Columbus Jewish Film Festival to the JCC, 1125 College Ave., Columbus 43209.
