The New Albany Symphony Orchestra will hold its third annual 4-mile walk/run fundraiser at 8 a.m. Sunday, May 1.

The New Albany Symphony Orchestra will hold its third annual 4-mile walk/run fundraiser at 8 a.m. Sunday, May 1.

The course starts on Market Street and winds through the New Albany Country Club Community, using the first two miles of the New Albany Walking Classic course.

Registration is available online at the orchestra's website, www.NewAlbanySymphony.com, or at www.PremierRaces.com. Registration is $30 through April 30 or $35 on race day. Packet pickup and race-day registration begins at 7 a.m.

Registration in the kids division for ages 12 and under is $10 through April 30 or $15 on race day. Walking clubs, corporate teams and church groups with 25 or more people will receive a discount code to enter at registration. The code for group registration can be obtained by emailing the race director at christopher.basinger@gmail.com.

The race will have two divisions. The run/walk/jog division is for all runners or any participant who will be doing some combination of running, walking or jogging. The competitive walking division is for all participants who will be strictly walking or race walking.

All participants will receive an event T-shirt and refreshments at the finish line. Awards will be given to the top three overall male and female participants divisions. Age-group awards will be given in the following categories: 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70 and over.

The fundraiser supports the New Albany Symphony Orchestra, a nonprofit community orchestra made up of professional musicians, community players and students.
