Pet emergency packets available

Dr. Donna L. Violet and the Animal Hospital of New Albany have partnered with the Ohio Veterinary Medical Association in donating Pet Oxygen Mask Kits to both the Plain Township and Jefferson Township fire departments.

Each Wag'N O2 Fur Life Kit includes three sizes of specially designed animal oxygen masks that can be used both on conscious pets suffering from smoke inhalation and pets that need to be resuscitated after losing consciousness from exposure to dangerous toxic fumes.

Violet recommends all pet owners in the community have pet emergency stickers on their front doors so, in case of fire or other emergency, the first response team will be aware that pets are on the premises.

The staff of the Animal Hospital of New Albany has created Pet Emergency Preparedness Packets that have valuable information to help keep pets safe, and they include pet emergency stickers. Pet owners are encouraged to stop by the clinic to receive a free packet.

The Animal Hospital of New Albany is located at 3033 Reynoldsburg-New Albany Road. More information is available at animalhospitalofnewalbany.vetstreet.com.
