New Albany: Purse reported stolen from home, found with $20 missing at golf course

New Albany police recovered a purse taken between 9 p.m. June 26 and 4 p.m. June 29 from the trunk of an unlocked car in an unlocked garage at a residence in the 7000 block of Stone Gate Drive.

It was found July 2 on the New Albany Links Golf Course.

The purse contained credit cards and $20, according to the report. The credit cards and purse were returned to the owner but the cash was not recovered, the report said.

In other recent incident reports from the New Albany Police Department:

* Police are investigating $400 worth of damage to a pool cover that occurred between 9 p.m. June 23 and 4 a.m. June 25 in the 7000 block of Lambton Park Road.

The pool cover was pried off to gain access to the pool, the report said.

* Police confiscated two vials containing yellow liquid at 11:45 p.m. July 4 from a vehicle parked on Reynoldsburg-New Albany Road near Antmon Round.

Neighbors reported people in the car were throwing beer cans out of the window.

Three of the four passengers were under 21 years old.

Police asked to search the vehicle and found the two vials. No beer cans were found in the vehicle. The vials were impounded for testing and the passengers and driver were released.
