New Albany: Two arrested in connection with theft from vehicle

New Albany police officers arrested two people July 28 after a theft from a vehicle was reported at 1:30 a.m. in the 4000 block of Conklin Court.

A resident reported seeing two people walking down Fenway Road at Conklin Court and then hearing two loud noises.

The resident went outside and found the back passenger window of a vehicle broken and a purse and wallet were missing, according to the police report.

New Albany police later recovered the items after stopping a vehicle at 3:51 a.m. on Dean Farm Road at Camden Drive. The stolen property was in plain view, according to the report.

Police arrested an 18-year-old woman for receiving stolen property and a 22-year-old man for receiving stolen property, possession of criminal tools, possession of drug-abuse instruments and no headlights.

The two confessed to other thefts in the central Ohio area, the police report said. No other details were available.

* Police arrested a 31-year-old man for OVI and speeding at 2:06 a.m. Aug. 4 at Harlem and Dublin-Granville roads.

* Police arrested a 53-year-old woman for OVI and failure to drive in marked lanes at 1:26 a.m. Aug. 3 on state Route 605 north of Central College Road.

* Police arrested an 18-year-old woman for OVI, failure to drive in marked lanes and underage consumption at 3:07 a.m. Aug. 2 on Central College Road west of the Cedarbrook subdivision.

* Police are investigating damage to tire valve stems that were reported to have occurred between 6 p.m. July 27 and 10:30 a.m. July 28 in the 4000 block of Chelsea Green East.
