St. Charles Preparatory School Alumni Golf Outing, 1:30 p.m. Sept. 8 at Riviera Country Club in Dublin. The scramble event begins with a shotgun start. An $80 entry fee covers the round of golf, a cart, prizes, refreshments and picnic dinner. AARP Foundation Senior Community Service Employment Program assists unemployed Franklin, Delaware and Licking county workers age 55 and over with securing employment. The program offers paid work experience, specialized training, upgrading of skills and job-search assistance. Age, income and residency requirements apply. Classes, workshops

Wills and Estate Planning Seminar, 7:30 p.m. Sept. 11 in the meeting room of the Gahanna branch of the Columbus Metropolitan Library, 310 Granville St. Attorney Raymond Eichenberger will discuss getting organized for estate planning, changes in estate tax laws, methods to avoid probate, living trusts, powers of attorney and medical directives. Ohio Senior Health Insurance Information Program of the Ohio Department of Insurance, Medicare 101, 6 to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 16 at Wexner Heritage Village, 1151 College Ave. Those already enrolled or who will be new to Medicare in 2014 are invited to learn about their options and what is new to Medicare, including what is and is not covered, the costs, the ins and outs of Medicare prescription benefits and how to avoid becoming a victim of unscrupulous sales practices. Diabetes Academy, presented by the Wexner Heritage Village Institute, 2 to 3 p.m. Mondays at Wexner Heritage Village, 1151 College Ave. Patients with diabetes and their loved ones are invited to a free educational series taught by certified diabetes instructors. Topics are: Sept. 16, Diabetes & Staying Healthy: Eating healthy and staying active; Oct. 7, Diabetes & Nutrition: Cooking demonstrations and dietitian guidance; and Nov. 4, Insulin 101: The basics of insulin and how to use a flex pen.
