On the move

* Dr. John Barnard of New Albany, president of the Research Institute at Nationwide Children's Hospital, recently was appointed to the Ohio Third Frontier Commission by Ohio Gov. John Kasich.

Created in 2002 as an economic development initiative, the Ohio Third Frontier provides funding to Ohio technology companies, universities, nonprofit research institutions and other organizations to create new technology-based products, companies, industries and jobs. The Ohio Third Frontier is administered by an 11-member commission. Barnard will serve on this commission until April 2014.

Barnard holds the Ann I. Wolfe Endowed Chair in Pediatric Research Leadership and is a practicing gastroenterologist in the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at Nationwide Children's Hospital. He also is a professor of pediatrics and vice chairman for research at the Ohio State University College of Medicine.

* Sandy Raines and Ron Cadieux of HER Realtors of New Albany recently were accepted as members of the Top 5 in Real Estate Network, the most prestigious of all industry achievements.
