New Albany-Plain Local School District officials want to provide better access to Superintendent April Domine with evening office hours and a daytime online chat.
"We want to provide opportunities for our community to connect with the district," said district spokesman Patrick Gallaway.
Gallaway said the district this month will schedule evening office hours in which Domine will be available to talk about what's happening in the district and answer any questions from residents.
He said depending on the turnout, the office hours could be held in a conference room at the board's administrative offices at 55 N. High St. or somewhere with a larger room, if needed.
Domine said she wants to continue doing talks over coffee with community members, similar to what she did during the 2012 bond campaign, when she met with groups of people in local residences to answer questions and receive feedback about district plans.
Gallaway said district officials also are trying to schedule an online conversation with Domine, perhaps around lunch time.
"People could log on and interact with her, asking questions," Gallaway said. "It's another opportunity we're looking at for (Domine) to talk to people in the community in various ways."
Gallaway said the specifics of the events would be posted at a later date.
