New Albany-Plain Local to hire two principals

The New Albany-Plain Local school board on Feb. 24 is expected to hire Dwight Carter as the New Albany High School principal and Emily Jablonka as the New Albany Middle School principal.

Carter is the principal of Gahanna Lincoln High School, and Jablonka is the principal of Jackson Middle School in the South-Western school district.

Both positions were posted on the district’s website and in several trade publications in 2013.

The school board on Aug. 26, 2013, hired interim high school principal Mark White to work with assistant principal Adonis Bolden, who was the high school dean of students, and Steve Gehlert, who was the middle school assistant principal.

They replaced principal Ric Stranges and assistant principal Rex Reeder, who resigned in August 2013 to work for Delaware Hayes High School.

Interim middle school principal Kip Greenhill, who was hired in August 2012, has been working with high school science teacher Robert Messenheimer, who has served as the assistant middle school principal since Aug. 26, 2013.

Greenhill replaced And Culp, who accepted an assistant superintendent position with the Marysville school district in July 2012.
