The New Albany Middle School bus loop will be closed from 9:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. daily through June 2.
Construction workers will be working east of the middle school cafeteria to install a playground adjacent to the 2-8 building, which is under construction.
Kevin Harrison of the Harrison Planning Group told the New Albany-Plain Local school board April 28 fencing on the sidewalks would prevent students from accessing the construction site.
Middle school staff members sent out information last week alerting parents that the loop would be closed, along with the middle school cafeteria playground and basketball courts and the green space directly east of the middle school cafeteria.
Harrison said work on the new building would continue this summer.
He said other related projects for the summer include: reviewing acoustics in the 2-5 elementary cafeteria and the New Albany High School Jefferson room; planning a secured entry for the middle school and reviewing the high school's entry; and widening the brick pillars at the entrance to the high school parking lot for easier access by emergency vehicles.
