New Albany: Gift cards reported stolen from The Limited

The New Albany Police Department is investigating the theft of $1,100 in gift cards from The Limited, 7775 Walton Parkway.

The cards were taken between May 13 and 14 from an office drawer. Officers have tracked where items purchased with the cards were delivered, according to the police report.

No charges have been filed and the incident remains under investigation, according to the report.

In other recent incident reports from New Albany police:

* Officers are investigating case of identity theft that occurred between April 4 and 23.

A Stone Gate Drive resident noticed $1,561.50 was transferred from a credit union card and used to purchase items from Kohl's Department store, Amazon and through Discover Card, according to the police report.

One of the items purchased from Kohl's was delivered to a California address, the report said.

The resident was advised to contact all entities associated with fraudulent purchases.

No charges have been filed in the incident.

* Police investigated a telecommunications complaint April 13 from an employee who works in the city's business campus.

The employee, who works in the 8000 block of Smith's Mill Road, reported being threatened via text message by another employee who was sent home with 30 other employees because of slow work conditions, the police report said.

An officer contacted the person who sent the text message but did not believe there was enough evidence to warrant an arrest, the report said.

* Police recovered a small bag of marijuana via a probation officer May 12.

The probation officer said it was turned in by a parent who wished to remain anonymous.
