New Albany: Homeless man arrested outside library

New Albany police arrested a man on an outstanding warrant for aggravated menacing after finding him sleeping at 8:08 a.m. June 24 behind the New Albany branch of the Columbus Metropolitan Library, 200 Market St.

The man, who told officers he is homeless, said he was waiting for the library to open, police reports said.

Officers reviewed his information, found the arrest warrant against him, and took him into custody, reports said.

In another incident report from the New Albany Police Department, a 24-year-old man was cited for operating a motor vehicle under the influence and failure to drive in marked lanes at1:49 a.m. June 29.

The traffic stop and arrest took place on state Route 605, south of Walnut Street.
