Open house scheduled at Center for Senior Health

An open-house event is scheduled for Thursday, July 31, at the recently remodeled National Church Residences Center for Senior Health-North, 1700 E. Dublin-Granville Road.

The event is scheduled for noon to 2 p.m.

The open house will showcase the recent remodeling of the facility, which provides adult day services.

The improvements include a new entryway with a meeting room where people who want more information can be spoken with confidentially; new floors in the main hallway and two of the three program rooms; new furniture; and a new garden with elevated flower beds, according to the announcement from National Church Residences.

The garden was redesigned with the help of Home Depot, Scotts Miracle-Gro, Ruscilli Construction Co. and the Mirolo Charitable Foundation.

"Our clients and families who have seen the renovations have said they are absolutely lovely," Mike Finelli, director of business operations for National Church Residences, said in a statement.

"The facility now has a homey feel," Finelli said.

"This open house will raise the awareness of the improved space, and demonstrate how important adult day services are to us," he said.

National Church Residences provides adult day services for adults with cognitive and physical impairments through the Center for Senior Health.

Other features are health care, rehabilitation, nutrition, personal care, counseling, therapeutic activities and transportation.

National Church Residences took over the building from Heritage Day in 2006 and completed more than $1 million in renovations in 2007.

The building itself was built in the late 1970s as a Frank's Nursery and Crafts store.

The event is open to referral sources, business associates, Northland community groups and the general public.

The event includes music on the patio, refreshments and tours of the facility for those who attend.

National Church Residences is a nonprofit organization that provides integrating housing, health care and supportive services, serving seniors of all income levels and families.

With 330 communities in 28 states and Puerto Rico, National Church Residences is one of the nation's largest nonprofit providers of affordable senior housing.

It also owns and operates full-service retirement communities in Ohio and Florida.
