New Albany: Surveying laser reported stolen

The New Albany Police Department is investigating the theft of a construction surveying laser reportedly taken July 11 from a tripod at a home under construction in the 3000 block of Reynoldsburg-New Albany Road.

Workers on the scene reported seeing a dark-colored Ford Expedition arrive at the site near where the laser was set up and stay for about three minutes. The vehicle left the site and headed north on state Route 605, according to the police report.

Workers then noticed the laser was missing and reported the loss to the police at 2:02 p.m., the police report said.

In other recent incident reports from the New Albany Police Department:

* Police are investigating the theft of a purse and its contents between 3 p.m. and 5:50 p.m. July 13 from a car parked at the New Albany Country Club, 1 Club Lane.

The car's front passenger window was damaged in the incident, according to the police report.
