Janet Alexander Memorial Golf Tournament and Garden Party, Sept. 12 at the Winding Hollow Golf and Event Center, 6140 Babbitt Road in New Albany. The tournament will benefit the nonprofit Helping Hands in the Garden. In addition to golf, there will be a silent auction, a raffle, a topiary gardening workshop and a tea party for nongolfers. AARP Foundation Senior Community Service Employment Program helps unemployed Franklin, Delaware and Licking county workers age 55 and over secure employment. The program offers paid work experience, specialized training, upgrading of skills and job-search assistance. Age, income and residency requirements apply. Ohio Dominican University, Project Management Boot Camp, from 6 to 10 p.m. once a week starting Sept. 30 at its main campus, 1216 Sunbury Road. The nine-week program will be offered four times during the year.
