Jayes announces college decision
Meghan Jayes of the New Albany girls soccer team signed a national letter of intent Feb. 6 to play at California University of Pennsylvania.
Jayes, a goalkeeper, had 10 shutouts last season as the Eagles went 11-5-2 overall and 6-0 in the OCC-Capital Division to win the league championship. Jayes had 33 career shutouts — including 10 consecutive her sophomore year, when she had 16 — and finished with a 35-7-6 career record. She was first-team all-league and all-district, second-team all-state and the OCC-Capital Player of the Year.
