A sign language choir that operates out of Karl Road Christian Church will host a praise concert Saturday, Aug. 29.

The concert begins at 5 p.m. The church is located at 5400 Karl Road.

"Acts of Faith" is the name adopted by the group of women who do sign language interpretations of Christian music, according to the Rev. Margot Connor, senior minister at Karl Road Christian Church.

It was started about two and a half years ago by Kerry Baker, who knew American Sign Language, and another woman who was in the process of learning it. Acts of Faith rehearses at the church every Tuesday evening and also participates in once-a-month gospel praise services, Connor said.

The Saturday concert, titled "Acts of Faith Present Acts of Faith," will feature not only the sign language group but also two or three other choirs, soloists, poetry and even mime.

"It should be really wonderful," Connor said.
