Entries are currently being accepted for the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Youth Oratorical Contest.

Students in grades K-12 from the Franklin County area are invited to participate. The contest will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, at the King Arts Complex, 867 Mount Vernon Ave.

The theme of this year's contest is "Revitalize, Rejuvenate, Recommit." Contestants are required to present original orations about King and his accomplishments.

To enter the contest, students should mail a completed registration packet and their written oration to Nikki Jenkins, c/o Columbus Community Relations Commission, 1111 E. Broad St. 3rd Floor, Columbus 43215.

The deadline to enter is Friday, Nov. 13.

The 87th annual TWIG Bazaar will offer unique, handcrafted holiday gift items from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15, in the Lausche Building at the Ohio Expo Center, 717 E. 17th Ave.

All proceeds will benefit Nationwide Children's Hospital.

Bazaar items will include lighted/decorated trees, jewelry, stationary, holiday ornaments, decorations and much more.

Antiques, collectibles and home-baked treats will also be available.

Early entrance shopping passes are available for a $25 donation to the hospital. To obtain a pass, call the Nationwide Children's Hospital Foundation at (614) 355-0888.

TWIG is a volunteer organization that has raised more than $26-million for Children's since its inception in 1916.
