Habitat for Humanity – Greater Columbus is in the running to earn up to $25,000 from American Home Shield for neighborhood revitalization efforts in Franklin County.

Supporters of the local nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry can help by casting votes, as many as one a day, online at www.ahschallenge.com.

"You can even watch the votes add up and keep tabs on the competition as it unfolds," according to the announcement.

The voting will continue through Jan. 31, 2011.

American Home Shield, founded over 35 years ago and based in Memphis, Tenn., is a worldwide provider of commercial and residential home service companies including ServiceMaster Clean, TruGreen, Terminix and Merry Maids.

"The more people voting for Habitat for Humanity – Greater Columbus, the better our chance of winning $10,000, $15,000 or even $25,000 to improve our local community," the announcement added.

Additional information about the program is available at the website.
