Beginning with the April 26 edition, readers will receive a new community newspaper, ThisWeek Northland News.

The resources of ThisWeek Community Newspapers and Suburban News Publications will be combined in the new publication, which will merge the best qualities of ThisWeek Northland and the Northland News.

Redesigned into a reader-friendly 14-inch tabloid format, ThisWeek Northland News will continue to bring readers award-winning local news, schools, sports and commentary coverage, packaged with midweek advertising from area businesses.

The best features from each publication, culled through extensive reader surveys and focus groups, will be incorporated in ThisWeek Northland News.

The paper will be delivered on Thursdays. Daily subscribers to The Columbus Dispatch will receive it in their morning paper, and nonsubscribers will receive it in drops at their porches or driveways.

"We're excited to bring together the considerable strengths of these formerly separate weekly newspapers. We plan to produce one new powerhouse product for readers and advertisers in the community," said Roy Biondi, group publisher for ThisWeek Community News. "Our online presence at ThisWeekNEWS.com will be bolstered as well through the combination. In print and online, we will produce an outstanding community news product."
