Culvert work to close Cooke Road

Wednesday September 5, 2012 9:01 AM

Cooke Road will be closed to all traffic and pedestrians until mid-October, weather permitting, for the replacement of the county-owned culvert just east of I-71 over Adena Brook, the Franklin County Engineer's Office has announced.

The work is part of a city of Columbus project to replace a 20-inch water line and resurface Cooke Road from I-71 to Maize Road.

The posted detour route for westbound motorists will follow Karl Road north to Morse Road, west to I-71, and south to Cooke Road. Eastbound traffic will follow the detour route in the opposite direction.

The city will supervise the building of this $1.5 million water line and roadway improvement project by the Trucco Construction Co. Franklin County is contributing $302,000 for the culvert replacement.
