A fatal accident closed Schrock Road for more than five hours Saturday, Dec. 15.

According to Columbus police, a vehicle driven by Amanda L. Miller, 29, of Pickerington, was eastbound on Schrock just east of Sharon Woods Boulevard when it went left of center and collided with a westbound van.

The accident occurred at approximately 8:14 a.m. Miller wa pronounced dead shortly before 9 a.m.

Both the van driver, Miquel Angel Lopez, 31, and an unidentified passenger sustained non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Schrock Road was reopened at about 1:30 p.m.

The accident was the 61st fatal crash in Columbus this year.
